Crispdoc — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

Crispdoc ("the app", "we", "us") is a document scanner built by Asquarete. This policy explains, in plain language, what Crispdoc does and does not do with your information.

The short version: Crispdoc keeps your documents on your device — your scans, the text we extract, and your settings never leave your phone and we never see them. The only data that leaves your device is the advertising identifier used to show ads in the free version. Upgrade to Crispdoc Pro and even that stops — Pro shows no ads.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect your documents or any personal information you create.

Crispdoc has no user accounts and no sign-in. We operate no servers that receive your documents. The documents you scan, the images you import, the text extracted by OCR, and your in-app settings are stored only in local storage on your device. We cannot see them.

The free version of Crispdoc shows ads, which are provided by Google AdMob. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK accesses your device's advertising identifier (Ad ID) and basic ad-interaction data (such as ad impressions and clicks). This is the only information that leaves your device, and it is used to show and measure ads — not to access your documents. See Section 6 for details. Crispdoc Pro contains no ads and no advertising SDK, so a Pro install transmits none of this.

2. Camera and photos

3. On-device processing

All scanning, edge detection, cropping, enhancement, quality scoring, and text recognition (OCR) happen entirely on your device. Crispdoc does not send your documents or any derived data to us or to any third party.

4. Optional biometric lock

If you enable App Lock, Crispdoc uses your device's biometric prompt (fingerprint/face) to unlock the app. The biometric match is performed by Android in the device's secure hardware. Crispdoc never receives, stores, or transmits biometric data — only a success or failure result.

5. Purchases

If you upgrade to Crispdoc Pro, the purchase is handled by Google Play Billing. Google processes the transaction under Google's Privacy Policy. Crispdoc does not receive or store your payment details.

6. Advertising (free version only)

The free version of Crispdoc is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares your device's advertising identifier and ad-interaction data with Google and its advertising partners to select, deliver, measure, and prevent fraud in the ads you see. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and the How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services page.

We do not share your scanned documents, OCR text, or any file content with advertisers or anyone else — those never leave your device.

Your choices:

6a. Other data sharing

Apart from the advertising described above, we do not share your data with anyone. We do not sell your data. There are no other third-party data recipients.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your documents stay on your device until you delete them in the app or uninstall Crispdoc. Uninstalling the app removes all of its local data. Because nothing is stored on our side, there is nothing for us to retain or delete.

8. Children's privacy

Crispdoc is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. Because the free version serves ads, the app is targeted at a general (13+) audience in Play Console, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. We do not enable the "primarily child-directed" ad settings.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and post the revised policy at this URL. Material changes will be reflected in a future app update.
